Mechdusa
A chimera of steel born from cursed seeds and midnight dread
Mechdusa is a Hardmode boss exclusive to worlds that combine the For the Worthy and Remix seeds. Technically, it is not considered a separate boss, but is merely a combination of all three mechanical bosses . It resembles a large serpentine-like creature composed of the three bosses: The Destroyer 's head is attached to Skeletron Prime 's head, and The Twins are individually connected via tendrils to Skeletron Prime's eye sockets instead of to each other. There are also two extra Probes attached to The Destroyer's head. Mechdusa can be summoned manually with Ocram's Razor anywhere at any time. In addition, if any of its constituent bosses have not yet been defeated and a Demon or Crimson Altar has been destroyed, Mechdusa has a 1/20 (5%) chance to spawn naturally at dusk (7:30 PM). If spawning this way, its arrival is announced by the status message " What a horrible night to have a curse. " While Mechdusa is alive, its exclusive music Boss 5 will play. - Item (Quantity) Rate - Waffle's Iron 100% - 1 Behavior - 2 Notes - 3 Achievements - 4 Tips - 5 Trivia - 6 History - 7 References

Lore & Background
In worlds where the fabric of reality has been twisted by the convergence of For the Worthy and Remix, a singular nightmare awakens to shatter the balance. Mechdusa is not merely a beast but a grotesque fusion of the three mechanical scourges, bound together in a serpentine union that defies natural order. The Destroyer's massive head merges with Skeletron Prime's skull, while the Twins dangle like cursed pendulums from its eye sockets, tethered by writhing tendrils of metal and malice. This abomination is a chimera born of code and curse, summoned only when the world itself bleeds with the weight of broken altars and dark secrets.
Legends whisper that this entity appears only under the most unforgiving stars, heralded by a chilling declaration: "What a horrible night to have a curse." Unlike its constituent parts which roam the land individually, Mechdusa acts as one singular, overwhelming force of destruction. It is a manifestation of the world's own broken mechanics, where the boundaries between separate threats dissolve into a single, relentless tide of lasers and spinning saws. To face it is to challenge the very architecture of the Hardmode world, for even victory does not grant a new trophy, but rather the spoils of three defeated gods.
In Their Own Story
The clock strikes seven-thirty, and the air grows thick with static as the message echoes through your mind: "What a horrible night to have a curse." You look up to see it descending from the void—a monstrosity of chrome and light. The Destroyer's head looms above Skeletron Prime, its body segments dragging behind like a metallic tail, while Retinazer and Spazmatism swing violently from the central skull, their eyes burning with twin fires of vengeance.
You draw your weapon as the beast charges, the ground trembling under the weight of its combined mass. Lasers tear through the darkness, weaving a deadly tapestry that leaves no safe haven. The Prime arms spin and saw, seeking to crush you against the earth, while Probes dart from the chaos like angry wasps. You dodge a barrage, feeling the heat of Spazmatism's breath singe your armor, realizing too late that this is not three battles, but one endless nightmare where every attack overlaps into a symphony of destruction.
Reader's Guide
Mechdusa spawns exclusively in worlds combining For the Worthy and Remix seeds. It appears naturally at dusk if any mechanical boss remains undefeated after an altar is destroyed, or be summoned manually anywhere using Ocram's Razor. Prepare a large, flat arena with layered platforms to manage vertical movement, as the fused bosses restrict your space.
Focus your fire on Skeletron Prime last. Defeating it first releases The Twins and The Destroyer, causing them to move independently and overwhelm you with chaotic patterns. While attached, the secondary bosses are more predictable; The Twins hover above Prime after attacks, making Spazmatism's flamethrower easier to evade.
Utilize piercing weapons to damage all three components simultaneously. Equip high-mobility gear like the Chlorophyte or Shrimpy Truffle mounts to dodge charges and laser barrages. Remember that the two extra Probes are invulnerable until Prime or The Destroyer falls, so prioritize the main body segments first.
