Though many dismiss him as a trivial obstacle, a mere side quest for the brave or the bored, his presence reshapes the land. His defeat births a new companion, the Nerdy Slime, forever altering the rhythm of village life. He is unique among rulers, for he does not fear the burning depths that consume others; lava becomes but another element to bounce upon. In the chaos of his battle, he summons his courtiers, flooding the arena with blue and spiked minions, yet his own form shrinks and quickens as his health wanes, a desperate dance of survival before the crown falls.

In Their Own Story

You stand at the very edge of the world, where the grass turns wild and the sky feels distant. The air hums with an unnatural silence before a massive shadow detaches itself from the horizon. King Slime lands with a wet, resonant thud, his form towering over you like a gelatinous mountain. He does not roar; he simply hops, the ground trembling under his weight.

You raise your weapon, but he vanishes in a blink, reappearing inches away to slam into your defenses. The world dissolves into chaos as smaller blue slimes pour from his body, their tiny forms clattering against your armor. He grows smaller now, faster, a blur of azure and green that teleports with mocking ease. You dodge his high arcs, feeling the heat of lava nearby—a danger he ignores but you must respect. With every strike, he shrinks further, his movements becoming frantic until, finally, the massive form shatters into a shower of coins and treasure bags, leaving behind only the faint smell of rain and a new friend waiting to be found.

Reader's Guide

Summon King Slime by crafting a Slime Crown using Gel and a Crown at a Demon or Crimson Altar, usable anywhere. Alternatively, wait for the Slime Rain event to kill 150 slimes naturally, or in Remix worlds, kill specific slimes while meeting health requirements.

Prepare a flat arena with multiple platforms to mitigate his vertical leaps, as he can clear 17-block walls. Remove lava pitfalls if you are not tanking, though note that King Slime is one of the few bosses damaged by it. Equip ranged or piercing weapons to damage him and his spawned minions simultaneously.

His attack pattern consists of two normal jumps, a low hop, and a high leap. Watch for his shrinking animation and map icon dropping; this signals an imminent teleport. In Expert and Master modes, he summons Spiked Slimes, so keep moving. Focus fire on the King first to stop the spawn rate, then clear the adds. Use healing potions, as the spawned Blue Slimes may drop Hearts and Stars.
