Lore & Background
In the deepest throes of the Frost Moon, when the night sky bleeds with crystalline frost, the Ice Queen claims dominion over the frozen wastes. She is a towering monstrosity of ice and malice, a being so cold-hearted that diplomacy has long since failed against her will. As the event's final arbiter, she arrives only after waves of lesser winter horrors have been quelled, bringing with her an acceleration of death that defies mortal comprehension. Her presence signals the climax of the season's terror, for she is the only flying boss of the Frost Moon, drifting effortlessly through solid earth as if gravity were merely a suggestion to be ignored.
Legends whisper that her very soul seeks to claim others, a chilling echo of ancient fairy tales where snow queens steal hearts and freeze them in eternal stasis. Her attacks are not merely physical but magical assaults of the deepest frost, raining shards that slow movement and waves that can lock a victim in place forever. To face her is to court the chill of the void itself, for she moves with an evasive grace that mocks the clumsy struggles of those who would stand against her. Those who survive her onslaught are rewarded not just with glory, but with artifacts forged in the heart of winter's fury.
In Their Own Story
The air grows biting as the twelfth wave begins to fade, and suddenly she appears—a silhouette of jagged ice against the moonlit sky. She does not walk; she hovers, drifting through the stone of your arena with a ghostly indifference to the world below. Her eyes lock onto you, cold and unblinking, before she unleashes a barrage of Frost Waves that slice through the darkness. You dash upward, wings flaring, but the chill seeps into your bones, slowing your movements until time itself seems to thicken.
She circles above, raining shards from her shadowed underbelly, each one a promise of paralysis. You try to climb higher, to find the safety of the open sky, yet she accelerates as your health wanes, her speed increasing with every passing second. In a moment of desperation, you watch as she spins in place, a whirlwind of projectiles shooting outward in chaotic arcs. Standing perfectly still along a cardinal line, you dodge the diagonal storm that threatens to shatter you. With a final burst of courage, you strike true during her stationary twirl, and as her form dissolves into frost, the cold retreats, leaving behind only the silence of victory.
Reader's Guide
Summoning the Ice Queen requires surviving until Wave 11 of the Frost Moon event, where she begins to spawn naturally. As the event progresses to waves 14 and beyond, multiple Queens may appear simultaneously, increasing the difficulty and loot potential. Prepare an arena with wide horizontal platforms and vertical shafts to facilitate dodging her rapid movements and to utilize mounts with infinite flight time like the Witch's Broom.
Equipping a Hand Warmer or Ankh Shield is critical to negate the Chilled debuff, which slows movement, and the Frozen debuff that can immobilize players mid-air. A Warmth Potion should be consumed beforehand to significantly reduce incoming damage from her contact hits and projectiles. For combat, focus on her twirl attack phase; she remains stationary while spinning, making this the only reliable window for concentrated fire. Note that Frost Shard distribution is weighted diagonally, so standing directly up, down, left, or right of her reduces hit probability.
Avoid staying above her during her horizontal dash, as she will not shoot upward if you are positioned higher. Use wings and movement accessories to chase her while maintaining distance, and equip lifesteal gear like Spectre armor or Vampire Knives combined with a Cross Necklace for survivability. Remember that damage drops increase significantly in later waves, so prioritize the fight during waves 14-15 for optimal loot rates.
