Rusty Armored Bones
The Rusted Company rises from the depths to bleed the living dry
The Rusty Armored Bones is a Hardmode , post- Plantera enemy that spawns in the Dungeon after Plantera is defeated. Similar to Angry Bones , they come in multiple varieties and follow the Fighter AI . They have a 1/3 (33.33%) chance to inflict the Bleeding debuff for 10 / 20 / 25 seconds and a 2/9 (22.22%) chance to inflict the Slow debuff for 5 / 10 / 12.5 seconds. Only one of the debuffs can be inflicted at a time. Rusty Armored Bones spawn most often in areas of the Dungeon backed by slab walls . Lore & Background
To face them is to invite a slow, agonizing demise. Their strikes do not merely wound; they tear open flesh with such ferocity that life itself begins to drain away in the form of Bleeding. Should their heavy blows strike true, time seems to warp around the victim, slowing their movements as if wading through deep water. Though only one curse may afflict a soul at a time, the very presence of these spectral warriors signals a dungeon that has turned against its visitors, demanding respect or offering a grave.
In Their Own Story
You step into the cool gloom, your torch flickering against the damp slab walls. The air grows heavy with the scent of rust and ancient dust. Suddenly, the silence shatters as they rise from the shadows—Rusty Armored Bones, their jagged blades gleaming with a dull, malevolent light. You raise your weapon, but the first strike lands with a sickening crunch. A wave of agony floods your veins; you feel your strength siphoned away, blood leaking from an invisible wound. Your limbs grow sluggish, the world slowing to a crawl as another bone-clad figure lunges. Panic claws at your throat, but there is no running in this place. You swing wildly, desperate to break their grasp, knowing that one more mistake will leave you bleeding out on the cold stone floor.
Reader's Guide
Rusty Armored Bones appear exclusively in Hardmode, specifically after Plantera has been defeated. They haunt the Dungeon, with a higher likelihood of spawning in areas backed by slab walls, though they can manifest elsewhere with reduced frequency.
These undead warriors utilize Fighter AI, charging directly at players. Their primary threat is their ability to inflict the Bleeding debuff (33% chance), which prevents life regeneration for 10 to 25 seconds depending on difficulty. They also possess a 22% chance to apply the Slow debuff for up to 12.5 seconds, though only one of these effects can be active at once.
To farm them effectively, ensure you have defeated Plantera and are exploring the Dungeon's deeper sections near slab walls. Bring healing potions that do not rely on life regeneration, as Bleeding will negate natural recovery. Notable drops include the Bone Feather (0.33% chance), Adhesive Bandage (1%), Wisp in a Bottle (0.25%), Magnet Sphere (0.33%), Keybrand (0.5%), and Morning Star (0.5%).
