Lore & Background

The Bestiary records them as creatures of paradox, soft and jelly-like yet capable of firing beams that ignore the very shadows meant to hide their prey. Unlike their kin, they do not fear the water, diving into submerged depths with unerring precision to continue their assault. They are a testament to the Hallow's power to reshape life, turning harmless gelatinous blobs into airborne archers of light. Though they leave no trail of slime in their wake and contribute nothing to the Gelatin World Tour, their presence marks the night as a time of vigilance, where the beautiful glow of the world hides a deadly threat.

In Their Own Story

A beam of intense pink fire erupted from within, slicing through the air with terrifying speed. You dove behind a nearby pillar as the laser scorched the stone where you had stood seconds before. The creature did not chase; it simply hovered, unblinking, recharging for another shot. It fired again, and again, each beam leaving a faint trail of pink light in its wake. Even when you tried to vanish into the darkness, the lasers found you, piercing through invisibility as if sensing your very soul. You realized then that beauty in this world was often a prelude to destruction.

Reader's Guide

To defeat them, use weapons with high rates of fire like the Bee Gun to interrupt their firing animation; hitting them while they open their shell cancels the attack entirely. They are also an excellent source of Gel, dropping 5–10 per kill, making them ideal for crafting Flamethrower or Elf Melter ammo. While they drop a Chocolate Chip Cookie at a low rate (1.33%), they notably do not drop the Slime Staff.
