Lore & Background

Amidst the searing heat of the Solar Pillar, the Drakanian marches as a vanguard of the final calamity. These celestial soldiers emerge only after the Lunatic Cultist falls, serving the ancient will that seeks to extinguish all light save their own. Clad in armor forged from starlight and ash, they wield jagged spears capable of melting steel and stone alike with terrifying ease. Their weapons glow with a heat that rivals the very sun they protect, radiating an oppressive warmth that chills the bone despite the fire.

Their bond with the Drakomire is not merely tactical but symbiotic. When mounted, the pair strikes as one unified beast of destruction, charging through defenses before dismounting to finish the job. The beast provides mobility while the soldier delivers the killing blow with their infernal weapon. However, severing this link too hastily invites disaster. Should a warrior slay the Drakomire while the rider survives, the sudden absence of the mount triggers an ancient ritual of preservation.

The Drakanian's wounds seal instantly, fueled by the beast's departing essence, leaving the soldier fully restored and enraged for single combat. They are not merely enemies to be cleaved apart, but a dual threat that demands patience or precision in equal measure. To face them is to court the wrath of the heavens themselves, as they defend the pillars until the world burns.

In Their Own Story

The ground trembles beneath your boots as the air thickens with sulfur and ozone. Ahead, a Drakanian looms atop his beast, the Drakomire snorting plumes of white-hot steam into the twilight. You raise your weapon, but he does not wait. He charges, spear glowing like a dying star, forcing you to dodge the earth-shattering impact. Metal clashes against metal as you parry a thrust that would have melted your shield instantly.

Desperate, you strike true, felling the beast first. The Drakanian tumbles to the dust, yet before you can press the advantage, golden light erupts from his armor. His wounds knit together in seconds, fueled by the mount's fading spirit. He rises fully healed, eyes burning with renewed malice. The spear hums, hotter now, promising a pain that lingers long after death. You brace yourself for the true battle, realizing too late that you have awakened the soldier rather than ended him. There is no mercy in this pillar, only the relentless heat of the sun's final judgment. Sweat evaporates before it can form as he advances again, a solitary warrior who refuses to fall.

Reader's Guide

The Drakanian appears exclusively during the Lunar Events within the Solar Pillar area after defeating the Lunatic Cultist. It spawns as a ground-based enemy, often riding a Drakomire to form a Drakomire Rider unit.

Combat presents a unique risk. While you can kill either component separately, slaying the mount first causes the Drakanian to fully heal and attack immediately. To avoid this waste of damage, prioritize killing the rider while they are mounted or focus fire on both simultaneously.

Stats vary by difficulty but generally include 80 to 240 damage, up to 3000 life, and high knockback resistance. They utilize Fighter AI, closing distances quickly with their fiery spear which functions as a melee weapon rather than a thrown projectile.

Defeating them contributes to the Drakomire Rider Banner drop, as there is no separate banner for the dismounted soldier alone. Farming requires careful management of the spawn mechanics during the pillar event to ensure both parts of the unit are engaged correctly without triggering the healing mechanic unnecessarily.
