Lore & Background

Her workshop is a sanctuary of invention amidst the wilds of Terraria. She finds solace in the open expanses of the Desert, where her jetpack prototypes can soar without obstruction by dense jungle foliage or the gloom of the Dungeon. While she tolerates the presence of the Cyborg with scientific curiosity and admires the Princess's enthusiasm for teleportation, she despises crowded quarters and the chaotic magic of wizards. To her, electricity is a foolish concept; true power lies in the rhythmic chug of steam engines and the precision of copper piping.

In Their Own Story

The heavy thud of boots on metal grating echoes through your makeshift base before you see her. She steps out from behind a stack of crates, goggles reflecting the harsh Hardmode sun, her hair tucked beneath a leather cap stained with grease. "Should I become an air pirate?" she muses aloud, ignoring your greeting as she inspects your walls with a critical eye. "A jetpack would suit you nicely," she adds, her voice crackling like a furnace. She pulls a strange device from her belt, the Clentaminator, and gestures toward the corrupted ground beyond your safe haven. With a mischievous glint in her eye, she talks of smokestacks on cakes and the double-edged sword of rain that feeds steam yet rusts iron. You watch as she fiddles with a wrench, her mind clearly already miles above the clouds, dreaming of a sky filled not with monsters, but with freedom.

Reader's Guide

To welcome this eccentric inventor, you must first summon and defeat one of the three Mechanical Bosses: The Twins, The Destroyer, or Skeletron Prime. Once a mechanical boss falls, ensure there is an empty, valid house ready for her arrival. While she typically appears in Hardmode worlds, it is possible to bring her into pre-Hardmode realms by transferring items from a completed world, though her inventory will remain limited until the world officially enters Hardmode.

For optimal happiness, place her in the Desert biome where she loves the wide-open spaces for flight. She prefers solitude and dislikes crowded areas or being near other NPCs like the Wizard, Dryad, or Party Girl. However, she gets along well with the Cyborg, Princess, Painter, and Dryad if kept at a distance. Avoid placing her in the Jungle, as the vegetation grinds her gears.

Her shop is vital for progression, offering the Clentaminator to cleanse biomes and Steampunk-themed furniture. She sells High Velocity Bullets and various solutions for terraforming. Note that she will not sell Dark Blue Solution if housed in a Glowing Mushroom biome; the Truffle provides that instead. In Celebration Mk10 or Zenith worlds, she starts as an available NPC.
