Wings

Defy gravity and touch the clouds with the power of wings

Have you seen the Wyverns soaring high up in the clouds? If only I could fly like that... — The Guide Wings are accessories that allow the player to fly temporarily by holding the ↷ Jump button. They also provide immunity to fall damage . After flight time is exhausted, holding ↷ Jump allows the player to glide, slowing descent speed by 66.67%. Flight time resets when the player stands, climbs (e.g. using Rope or Shoe Spikes ), or hooks onto a block. Flight is much more controlled with wings than with Rocket Boots and the like, and they allow for much greater flight range. The player can only equip one set of wings at a time. Equipping wings generally replaces jumps entirely with flight, rather than requiring a double-jump to activate. Extra jump accessories like the Cloud in a Bottle will still grant an additional jump, which can be used to instantly boost the wing to full speed upon reactivation in midair. Certain wing types also allow the player to hover at fixed heights by holding the ▼ Down button during flight, and/or accelerate their ascent speed by holding the ▲ Up button. - 1 Types - 2 Inactive Wings 2.1 Crafting - 3 Notes - 4 Achievements - 5 Tips - 6 Trivia - 7 See also - 8 History - 9 References

Lore & Background

To don a pair of wings is to rewrite the laws of physics for oneself. They grant the miraculous ability to hold one's breath against gravity, transforming a fatal fall into a graceful glide that slows descent by two-thirds once flight time wanes. Crafted from the rarest souls—those of Light, Night, and Flight—and adorned with feathers plucked from sky-dwelling harpies or ice shards from frozen golems, each pair tells a story of triumph over nature's most formidable guardians. Whether glowing with the faint purple hue of a developer's secret gift or radiating the orange light of a steampunk marvel, they are the ultimate symbol of liberation.

In Their Own Story

You stand at the edge of a ravine, the wind howling up from the depths below. The ground is too far to fall safely, yet the sky calls with an irresistible promise. You fasten the wings to your back, feeling the weight of the souls within them hum against your spine. With a deep breath, you leap. Gravity releases its grip instantly as you hold the jump button, and suddenly, you are not falling but rising. The world shrinks beneath your boots as you ascend, the air growing thin and cold. You hold the downward arrow to hover, suspended in midair like a bird of prey, watching the sun dip below the horizon. For a moment, there is only the silence of flight and the rhythmic pulse of the wings beating against the wind. Then, with a flicker of light, you dive forward, carving a path through the clouds, free from the chains of the earth.

Reader's Guide

Equipping wings replaces standard jumping with flight mechanics; holding the jump button initiates ascent, while releasing it allows for gliding. Use accessories like the Cloud in a Bottle to gain extra jumps that instantly boost flight speed upon reactivation. For maximum range and control, combine wings with items that grant hover capabilities or increased ascent speeds. The Expert Mode Soaring Insignia accessory is essential for infinite flight, removing the time limit entirely.
