The Vampire Knives are a Hardmode , post- Plantera melee weapon . When used, it rapidly fires a spread of 4–8 red knife projectiles. Upon hitting an enemy , each knife causes a lifesteal effect that heals the player for 7.5% of the damage dealt (rounded down), signified by a red beam connecting to the player. The knives will eventually decrease in damage and fade after traveling a certain distance. The Vampire Knives are always found in the Dungeon 's Crimson Chest , which can only be unlocked with a Crimson Key after Plantera has been defeated. Its best modifier is Godly or Demonic . Reader's Guide
Master the weapon by understanding its projectile behavior. It fires 4 to 8 knives in a spread, with one always aiming directly at your cursor. Melee speed increases projectile velocity but not fire rate. Be aware that against the Moon Lord, the Moon Bite debuff will disable healing, so save this tool for other bosses or events where survival is key.
Did You Know?
- The knives heal immediately upon dealing damage, not when the red beam visually connects to the player.
- A minimum of 4 knives are always thrown, with independent chances to increase the count up to a maximum of 8.
