The Sniper Rifle is a Hardmode , post- Plantera gun that has a 1/12 (8.33%) / 23/144 (15.97%) chance of being dropped by Skeleton Snipers in the Hardmode Dungeon . When used, it fires bullets at an extremely high damage and velocity, with a slow fire rate. It also converts Musket Balls and Tungsten Bullets into High Velocity Bullets , giving them the special effects but not affecting their damage. The Sniper Rifle has a base 29% critical strike chance, as opposed to the usual 4%. The Sniper Rifle also has a "zoom" ability activated by holding the ⚷ Open / Activate key (identical to that of the Binoculars and the Rifle Scope ), allowing the screen to extend in the direction of the cursor.
