Lore & Background

In the churning depths where the ocean meets the abyss, Duke Fishron commands a tempest older than the moon itself. The Razorblade Typhoon is not merely a weapon forged in fire, but a captured fragment of his own fury, bound within an ancient spell book by those daring enough to survive his wrath. Each page turns with the sound of grinding teeth, whispering secrets of homing winds that seek flesh with unerring precision. It is said that when the book opens, the air grows heavy with the scent of salt and ozone, for the typhoon it summons does not simply fly; it lives, tracking its prey across the battlefield until the distance becomes too great or the target falls silent.

These razor-wheels are manifestations of pure kinetic hunger, glowing faintly in the dark like dying stars before they strike. They bounce off stone and earth with a defiance of physics that mirrors the shark-king's own unnatural resilience, carving paths through solid rock as if it were mist. The magic required to wield such a chaotic force is immense, draining the caster's mana with every invocation of the storm. Yet, for the brave mage who masters this artifact, there is no better companion in the heat of battle than a cyclone that refuses to miss its mark, turning the tide of war against even the most formidable foes of Terraria.

In Their Own Story

The Martian Madness had turned the desert sky into a kaleidoscope of lasers and metal. You pressed your back against the cold stone wall of your makeshift bunker, breathing hard as the chaos raged outside. In your hand, the spell book felt warm, vibrating with a hungry pulse that matched the rhythm of your own heart. With a whispered incantation, you cast the Razorblade Typhoon.

The air tore open, and from the void emerged not one, but a swarm of spinning cyclones, each rimmed with jagged, shark-like teeth that glowed with a spectral light. They did not fly in straight lines; instead, they wove through the air with a fluid, predatory grace, locking onto the nearest mechanical horror. You watched in awe as they careened off the ground, ricocheting off boulders and walls without losing momentum, their speed increasing every second like a storm gathering strength.

One target fell, only for the cyclones to instantly pivot, ignoring your invincibility frames to hunt down another. They carved through the Martian fleet with terrifying efficiency, bouncing endlessly until every enemy was reduced to scrap. Standing safely behind the one-block barrier, you felt the vibration of their impact travel through the stone, a testament to a power that had turned the tide of an alien invasion into a mere spectacle of light and sound.

Reader's Guide

To wield this legendary artifact, you must first conquer Duke Fishron, a Hardmode boss summoned by fishing in the Ocean with a Truffle Worm. Upon his defeat, there is a one-in-six chance he will drop the Razorblade Typhoon directly into your inventory.

This weapon is exclusively designed for the Magic class due to its high mana cost of 20 and magic-based damage scaling. Its very slow use time of 40 frames demands patience, as the projectile takes a moment to manifest before launching at an incredible velocity of 18 tiles per second. However, once fired, the homing capability makes it exceptionally effective against fast-moving targets and segmented bosses like the Moon Lord or during the Lunar Events.

For optimal playstyle, position yourself strategically to maximize crowd control. The projectiles can target enemies within a 31-tile radius but will continue tracking until they exceed 62 tiles away. Be aware that if multiple enemies are present, the homing logic may switch targets, making it less reliable against single stationary foes. Utilize vertical walls to fire through obstacles by standing close to them, allowing the projectiles to spawn one tile in front of you and bypass cover—a tactic particularly useful for safely clearing events like Martian Madness while remaining invulnerable.
