Slime Rain
When the sky bleeds gelatinous life, summon the wrath of a gelatinous king
Slime Rain is a minor event that consists of frequent spawns of Green , Blue , Cloud , and Purple Slimes , and rarely Pinky . During the event, all slimes spawned will exhibit hostile behavior towards the player, unlike naturally spawned slimes. Green, Blue, and Purple Slimes will also appear falling in the background. Defeating 150 slimes during the event will cause King Slime to spawn; if he has been defeated previously, he will spawn after only 75 slimes are defeated. Slime Rain always occurs randomly, signaling its beginning with the status message " Slime is falling from the sky! " . It normally lasts between 9 minutes and 15 minutes, though it will end immediately when King Slime is defeated. Slime Rain will not end if the player leaves the world. The status message " Slime has stopped falling from the sky. " appears when the event ends. - 1 Details - 2 Contents 2.1 NPC quotes - 3 Notes - 4 Achievements - 5 Tips - 6 Trivia - 7 Gallery - 8 History - 9 References
Lore & Background
In the quiet hours between dawn and noon, the heavens sometimes weep not water, but a cascade of living slime. This phenomenon, known as Slime Rain, is a chaotic omen where Green, Blue, Cloud, and Purple slimes plummet from the clouds with hostile intent. Unlike their docile counterparts found in the wild, these sky-born intruders possess an unnatural aggression, driven by a singular purpose to summon their sovereign. As the downpour intensifies, the air grows thick with the scent of ozone and sweet gelatin, signaling that the barrier between the mundane world and the realm of the slime king is thinning.
The event is governed by ancient, unspoken laws of accumulation. Each fallen creature contributes to a hidden tally; when one hundred fifty of these gelatinous invaders are vanquished, the sky darkens further as King Slime materializes from the chaos. In worlds where his reign has already been broken, this threshold lowers, yet his return remains inevitable if the counter is reached. Should the king fall before the rain ceases, the event concludes instantly, though the world may remain haunted by the memory of falling slime for hours until the cooldown period fades.
This celestial deluge serves as both a trial and a gift to the brave adventurer. While the relentless barrage tests one's reflexes and resolve, it also offers a bountiful harvest of rare materials and the chance to claim the Slime Staff, a weapon of legendary rarity. The rain does not stop for the weary traveler who flees; it persists until the king is slain or time runs out, ensuring that only those who stand their ground can witness the full spectacle and reap its rewards.
In Their Own Story
You stand in the open field as the morning sun begins to climb, casting long shadows across the grass. Suddenly, a strange sound ripples through the air, not of wind or rain, but of thousands of tiny splats hitting the earth. You look up to see the sky turning a sickly shade of green and blue. They are falling from the clouds—slimes. Green ones bounce with malice, blue ones slide with purpose, and purple ones drop like heavy stones.
The first wave hits your boots, sticky and cold, but you do not flinch. You raise your sword as more descend, the air filled with the rhythmic plop of their landing. They swarm around you, a chaotic tide of gelatinous bodies that refuse to be ignored. "If you defeat enough of these slimes," the old tales whisper, "you might invoke the wrath of their king." You swing your blade, cleaving through the green and blue forms, watching them dissolve into harmless puddles of gel.
The number grows in your mind without a counter. One hundred... one hundred forty-nine. The sky seems to hold its breath. Then, with a thunderous crash that shakes the ground beneath you, the clouds part not for the sun, but for him. King Slime rises, massive and crowned, his eyes glowing with ancient fury. The rain stops instantly, leaving only the silence of the impending battle and the heavy scent of victory waiting to be claimed.
Reader's Guide
Slime Rain is a minor event triggered randomly between 4:30 AM and 12:00 PM, provided at least one player has over 140 health and 8 defense. It cannot occur during other active events or in Remix/Zenith worlds. The event begins with the message "Slime is falling from the sky!" and features frequent spawns of Green, Blue, Cloud, Purple, and rarely Pinky slimes that fall visibly from the background.
The primary threat is the sheer volume of enemies and their hostility; defeating 150 slimes (75 if King Slime was previously defeated) summons the boss, King Slime. If he despawns without being killed, the counter resets to 225 or 102 for subsequent spawns within the same event. The event lasts 9 to 15 minutes in single-player but ends immediately upon King Slime's defeat.
For survival and farming, construct an arena with two layers of platforms; this allows falling slimes to land on top while you fight below or engage the boss safely. Use Water Candles and Battle Potions to maximize spawn rates for farming Gel, Pink Gel, and the rare Slime Staff. Avoid enclosed 1x1 shelters during the boss phase, as King Slime can teleport inside. Key rewards include the Slimy Saddle, Slime Gun, Ninja armor pieces, and Expert/Master mode exclusive loot like the Royal Gel.
